My Talk with the Texas RV Professor

When we were at the South Texas RV Supersale, I had the opportunity to sit down with Terry Cooper, the Texas RV Professor. Terry had been leading seminars for most of the show, and I appreciated him taking the time to shoot this segment. If you’re not familiar with Terry, besides being a super-friendly guy, he’s an RVIA/RVDA Master Certified RV Technician who conducts training for RV dealers and Service Centers. He’s also created some distance learning materials for RV consumers, so I was understandably curious to pick his brain about a few topics that were on my mind.

Terry we met a few years back in Heber Springs. We have been on the road a few years now. Of course traveling as we do things come up.
I have a water pump that will to come on when I flip the switch. There is power at all the fuse boxes that I can find and all fuses are good. I was wondering if there might be a 4th box somewhere in the system as I do not have power to the switches. I’ve checked in the house batteries and could find no fuses.
Our rig is a 1997 Holiday Rambler Endeavor LE. Model 37WDS-LE 275HP.
Schematics are impossible to find for the older rigs.I sure would appreciate any suggestions.

  Hey Gene –
  Terry doesn’t normally maintain this site, but I will pass tour questions along to him.
  I don’t have any experience with Holiday Rambler wiring myself, but could there be an inline fuse somewhere that’s causing the issue? My instinct in your situation would be to start tracing and testing with my DMM, but there’s probably a smarter way to go about it than that.
  Like I said, I’ll pass your info along to Terry.
