The Tailgater Tire Table – an Easy RV Table Solution

We’ve been going to the Outdoor Retailer show for a few years now to scout out new products.  The more we go, the tougher it can be to find something new, innovative, and useful for RVers.   But sometimes, we see something like this product, and we have to do a double take:

When you see this product, you’ll immediately know how to use it, and why you want one.  We think it could be useful for all different kinds of RVs, because regardless of what kind of RV you have – we all have tires and we all like things that store small.

We tried the Tailgater Tire table on a Jeep, on a Class B like you see in the video, and on a Class C.  It fit all of them with no problem at all, and was quite sturdy.  The storage is really just as flat as you see, and we’re working on a place to store it in our Class B.  Ward gave us one to try out, and it’ll be going on the road with us on our next trip.

One caveat about using this portable table on a Class B RV though – you probably don’t want to put it on the back wheel as we did in this demo.  The sliding door could impact the table if it was opened all the way, and that wouldn’t be good.  If you wanted to use the table in this location, you’d want to come up with a way to limit the travel of the door to keep that from happening.

Apart from that, it is what you see – and you know you can use it.  Tailgater Tire Table is a family-run business you can feel good about supporting, and Ward is a nice guy to boot. (Plus, he’s a skier, so he gets the whole outdoors thing.)

Love your posts ! Now that you have Lance for a while now, how reliable is the van? Is finding a service facility difficult like the Mercedes Sprinter ? Lastly, can you explain how solar / battery combination work regarding using AC / power hungry appliances work? Do you think a generator is no longer necessary? Thanks again for your helpful posts. Also, keep on ringing the bell ! ding, ding, ding, ding ! :o)

Great product and perfect for my use when camping. I have my portablte LP grill hanging on the side of my van right behind the rear tires. Now I use one of those small plastic folding tables next to my grill for a cooking table. But I can’t set anything really hot on it.

      Thanks for this!
